The Next twenty four months will forcus on the above initiatives as well as on combating unoccupied and deteriorating or dilapidated housing in Zip Code 60612 (one building renovation at a time) and restore local Federal Empowerment Zone Business venues that are truly needed by the residents (one project at a time). These prospective properties that are owned by the City of Chicago would be aquired through negotiations with the Commissioner of Planning & Development/Busienss & Consumer Services. The 2010 Empowerment Zone Business opportunities give residents of Zip Code 60612 improved access to goods and services; and small for-profit businesses in general, and monority-owned ones in particular, are eligible for discretionary grants and guaranteed SBA 7a loans. The terms of the grants or loans will include continued affordability agreements.
