NOTICE
This Code constitutes a recodification of the general and permanent ordinances of the City of Gary, Indiana.Source materials used in the preparation of the Code were the 1989 Code embracing ordinances through January 31, 1989, and ordinances adopted by the Common Council since that date through September, 2009.
The chapters of the Code have been conveniently arranged in alphabetical order, and the various sections within each chapter have been catchlined to facilitate usage. Notes which tie related sections of the Code together and which refer to relevant state law have been included.
Please note that this is the first City Code to ever be made available online. Further, this is the first recodification in twenty (20) years. As such, there may be areas of the Code that could require additional attention. All modifications to this Code will be addressed in subsequent supplementals.
