Kids ChristmasMy foundation was incorporated on March 10, 2015, in honor of my late son Elijah who passed on February 7, 2015 of T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

After several visits to the Emergency Room where he was initially diagnosed with pneumonia, Elijah, intimately known as EJ, was transported to Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital where he was diagnosed with leukemia on November 11, 2014.pic-welcome

He underwent chemotherapy immediately and continued with chemo, blood & platelet transfusions until his passing on February 7, 2015.

It was later determined through his autopsy that he passed of Sepsis, an infection of the blood.

Although my heart is still very sad and probably will be that way for a while, I had to turn my grief into belief, and find strength in knowing that my baby boy is no longer suffering.

Mission Statement

Lijah Bear Foundation, Inc. serves as a resource for children and their families who have been diagnosed with leukemia and/or are currently at battle against any form of childhood cancer.

Our Goals

Our goal is to bring comfort to the patient, the parents, and the siblings by providing an outlet for normalcy and a mental health break during and after treatments.

Our goal is to help families remember that there is life outside of chemotherapy, know that we understand what you are going through and we are here to help. Our programs include sibling activities, medication assistance, and providing care packages to inpatient families.
